I definitely hear more problems related to this new computer than bonuses.  Just saying.

Guys.  You might be a bit more sensitive to someone with a new toy trying to work on it.  Sheesh.  Finding fixes might be in order. 

James I dont know if MAC or the Program you are running has any white papers but you could search on white papers your name of program and MAC and find something.

Kristen, James' computer does not have any problems. 

He has the exact same program on his Mac as he had on his PC - Photoshop CS3.  Trust me when I say I know this, I set it up for him. 

Please leave the PC / Mac flame wars on the tech forums.  I work with both on a professional basis, and I can tell you - they're both computers, complete with the quirks and issues that come with all computers, regardless of who makes them, or what OS they run.

(And yes, I even supplied James with manuals!)

James, I wish you all the best of luck in your endeavors with your shiny new toy. the bright side is, once you've mastered the new keys, you'll be fluent in both Mac and PC, which is quite like mastering Spanish and English, except cooler and more tech savvy!

im a PC person all the way.. cuz i like knowing what my computer is doing and being able to adjust it as i need to. not just having it on auto pilot.. however i will admit.. mac's are the gold standard for non-linear digital audio&video editing

Myth. Marketing Myth. A properly configured PC will do just as well at a fraction of the cost. The "must have" status among artists comes partially from it being marketed as such and partially from most of them needing someone else to configure the PC for them.

-shrug- vince i leanred photoshop, final cut pro and pro-tools on mac's and then leanred avid and avid lite on PC.. prefer the macs for those things.. aside from that PC ALL THE WAY!

PC straight but Mac curious..... ohh goodness that made me giggle heartily.

I started out the same way, and now...*looks at black macbook lovingly* I would not have it any other way. it's an addiction, like tattoos and good books. And one which I thoroughly enjoy.
