kilts was created by Monchothehorse
Hi everyone, This Friday will be my first event and I was planning on being a celt and saw they required kilts... Since I only found out I was coming yesterday I don't have time for them to ship one to me, so do they sell them at the event  or at worst does anyone have one I could borrow?

Thanks

If you can't get ahold of a kilt to borrow, really your next best option (and easier one) is to just get a couple yards of plaid material from a local fabric store.  You can use it to wrap around yourself and secure with a safety pin.  Good luck!

A traditional Celtic dress tartan is the standard kilt (that's like a skirt) with the pleats, etc.

A traditional Celtic battle tartan is a single 10 yard piece of plaid fabric. (might be a bit warm for the summer though)
If you want to go that route and you can bring the fabric, I will try to recall the proper way to wrap it for you.

A good demonstration on how to fold one. Kristen's advice is best for the short term. You may be able to check SportKilts and get something sent overnight express

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably end up making myself one, I hadn't thought of that before

If you're really desperate... find the nearest all girls catholic school.  A pack of smokes should net you a skirt from 1 of those girls.  Please don't ask me how I know this....  :-X  You learn things living in NYC.... things you never thought you would....

If there's one thing I know how to do, its makeshift a passable costume in less than three days - for myself and others. ;)
