Well hello John,
My name is Sean and I am one of the many new player marshall that will answer all your questions.
What to bring, important questions: for NPCing please bring black clothes and warm under layers.
For your own personal comfort: extra socks (they will get wet), sleeping blanket, pillow, blanket, toiletries, and medical supplies you need (medicine, epypen[sp]), extra snacks.
Thats it for your first event. We will give you everything else. We will get all the new people together to train and talk to you guys to make sure you know what is going on as best we can.
We look forward to meeting you and welcome aboard.

Anhil Shadesar, Knight of Kaladonia

There should be some new player marshals that will let themselves be known to you on this thread who are dedicated to helping you out and answering your questions. I'm just posting here to say that I suggest taking a look the core Rulebook. I don't suggest using it to answer your questions on your own. I do suggest looking for the answer in the rulebook, and then having it clarified with a rules marshal.

I'll link it for you right here;
www.knightrealms.com/documents/rulebook/...s-rulebook-core.html

I hope this helps you out in a way. Welcome to Knight Realms :)

Not a marshal, but as a newish player myself, I'll mention very soecific things I either wish I had, or was glad to have:

-chapstick (especially something for cold/windburn)
-waterproof shoes (love my leather Sandlars)
-water bottles (for late night thirst, hand in hand with midnight munchies)
-a down blanket (which I slept in like a happy burrito)

And have fun! You can always OOG ask people for help or clarification at almost any time. If you aren't having fun, you aren't doing it right ;)

Hey! I'm Jen, and I yell at people to bring moar socks!

Sean hit everything pretty solidly:
Good water proof boots, more socks than you'll ever need, snacks for days, and pillow/sheet/blankets!

The chapstick suggestion and waterbottle are also super solid.
We do have showers, so if you want to bring toiletries, you can.

Remember, if you're NPC'ing, plain black clothes are A+ with thermal layers.

MOAR SOCKS.

See you soon!

Hey! Names Conor and I'm also a new player marshal. Numbers vary but the average, even for a cold weekend, in the winter is somewhere between 75-125 or so. In the summer we can see In the range of 150-200 or more. The 0 degree event in Febuary we still had 50 people.
Any questions let me know by shooting me a private message or posting here.

Can you put a picture of it up here John? I think it might help the marshals answer you better.

Hey. While I am a new player marshal I am also a Logistics Marshal. My main concern would be the chain whipping someone, you or someone else. I'd have to actually see the length of the chain, how it's attached etc. but that's my two cents.

No, sir. It doesn't cost you anything to be an NPC, only your time.

Typically Connor is right, most weapons can be evaluated on site to see if they are safe, however I would not feel comfortable as Marshal having a chain dangling from a weapon. If any side of that comes loose its going to hurt.
