Worst name ever

I think the worst part of this article is the following:

"The Campbells' two other children are named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, who turns 2 in a few months, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who will be 1 in April."

It's not even as if he just named his son after Hitler, his daughters middle name are both references to his ideology and to the sick man who was in charge of Auschwitz.

Way to guarantee your kids a long life of explaining and avoidance.

Actually, from what I read... the parents supposedly aren't really racists and children of mixed ethnicity's attended the birthday party.

Campbell said he was raised not to avoid people of other races but not to mix with them socially or romantically. But he said he would try to raise his children differently.

The parents named their children that way for 1 reason... just to have unique names.  They named their kids out of the reason if vanity.

I don't know which is worse... to be named after an founder of ideology (admittedly disturbed one) or just to be unique.  Hollywood parents named their kids weird things and I feel bad for the kids.  This is another take on that.  ???

And I think that the fact that they have requested swastikas on the cake in the past undermines their attempt to claim that they named their son Adolf "just to be different".

I mean, I'm all for unique names, but Adolf Hitler isn't unique.  Stupid rednecks.

No... Jersey doesn't suck (that much  )... it's people.  When parents decide to name their kids based off their own perceptions, then raise that child in an environment based off their beliefs or ideology, you'll get bad with goods.

LARPer parents who raise their kids to embrace imagination, fantasy, and the lifestyle can be considered both good and bad.  Same with these folks (and it galls me to say it).  These "folk" have every right to raise their kids to believe in their "racial identity", "purity", and [strike]arrogance[/strike] "self-confidence".

Not that many of us (myself included) like it, but they have the right.  I just hope the teachings show the kids that their grandparent's (& parent's) way of thinking is outdated and not what is best for them.

As for Shop-Rite... every firm/company has the right to refuse the patronage of any of thier customers for any reason as long as it isn't infringing on the customer's civil rights.  Kudos to Shop-Rite and I hope this doesn't drag for them.

When the kids turn 18, they can legally petition to have their names changed.

edit: we shouldn't blast these folks too much.  the more bad press or outrage they draw, the more they can martyr themselves and cry "boohoo, we're being oppressed" and draw sentimental support from other groups.

About 15 years ago, someone in England wanted to legally change his name to "Sir Adolph Hitler."  The magistrate, thankfully, did not allow it.  The farther removed one is from the founding of the Ideology, the more acceptable using the founders name becomes.  Lots of Folks named Abraham, Mohammed, and Jesus.  Of course their names existed among many people before they expounded their ideology.  Adolph was actually a very common name in the USA before WWII.  One of my oldest friend's (he is 6' 3" and we've known each other when I was taller) father Is named Adolph Scott Hazel.  Since 1942, he signs all legal documents A. Scott Hazel.

It is one thing to have the name Adolf, it is entirely another to have the name "Adolf Hitler."

I mean what is that 6 year old child going to do when he finds out just who he is named after. Naming your child after the man who orchestrated the murder of 6 million people because you wanted him to have a "unique" name does NOT rock as a legitimate reason to name him Adolf "Hitler," At least not for me. Not to mention his other child, ______ AryanNation. Biggot. You're beat.

As for the parents and kids... just leave them be.  Cries of attention and bashing is all this is.  They want folks to hate them, call them names, and such... just so they can feel justified in their thinking and actions.  There is nothing worse when a person or persons perform an action they know will cause drama and then cries foul when others blast them for it.  Self-righteousness, self-martyring, and calls of unfairness are their new strategy.  We've all seen it before, and we all know the people who do it.

For the record, Hitler oversaw the murder of 6 million Jews, which was nothing compared to his grand total murdered, let alone killed among combatants.  Of course, he was a minor leaguer compared to Josef Stalin.  I do not think numbers exist for the total of Chinese murdered by the Japanese during their last conflict, but by all accounts if one takes deaths caused by starvation into account, the dubious title of 20th century Mass Murderer is unclear.  Now, if we are going on a per capita basis, Pol Pot is clearly in a class by himself.

Edit - by per capita I should have been more clear.  I mean as a percentage of the population under his control.

Never name your child after a mass murderer. It's irresponsible and will only cause problems.
