52,790 Words in 26 days! (Technically in 19 days).

My goal was to write 50,000 words, starting on February 1st and being committed to reaching that goal by February 29th.  I chose February so as to give myself the gift of a novel for my birthday, or at least the solid point of a completed first draft.

50,000 words is a very small book. Books of similar word count are: “Of Mice and Men”, “Catcher in the Rye” and “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy”.

Im hoping that it will balloon up closer to 75-100,000 though in the re-writes to come.

The story is set in the first age of Arawyn, and focuses on the inverted tower, the origins of VIM, and the battles of the ancient orders.

Hooray!  ;D

And here, I was wondering who I would have to PM when I took down the post for cussing...

'grats, man!  It's always good to see the results of hard work actually come to completion, or at least a checkpoint.  Getting to here is a major accomplishment.

Once this is done, I am looking forward to the ultimate book on the origins of the KR Universe, the Jamesarillion!  :)

While Mcdermitt has done notable things like bed andorra, I don't believe he was around in the first age of Arawyn

Just as a quick aside.

National novel writers month is in November. I participate every year. (Much to the dismay of my friends and family of whom I subject to reading whatever it is I write.)
