If you were a lord...

I recently heard this question at the Knight Realms booth at Dreamation and I thought this would be a very interesting experiment to see your responses. So, if you were a lord of a land in Travance, out of all the people who are not nobility (squires included) would be your knights and who would be your squires, and why? Also, what land would you govern and why?

So if i was a lord, I would probably be the lord of Alisandria, mainly because Dreg'mire has an already awesome lord. Pretty much the only reason I would be any kind of nobility is to help the people.

If Duncan were ever to become a lord it would have to be one of the more mountainous or hilly lands, much like the highlands.

Any knights.... would have to have the concerns of the Land foremost among their thoughts. And by the Land, I mean the People inhabiting the land, for without them, we as knights and nobility really aren't anything but a title.

There would be NO Squires, at least in that name. Such individuals would be come a "Man At Arms" and would owe fealty for the Land and to the Barony. MAA would be selected from those who show promise and display the proper concerns for those of the land they are responsible to/for.

There would be Common Sense laws and as fair as possible treatment for folks within, with crimes/misdemeanors punished appropriately.

The one thing I would insist upon of any knights/MAA is that they remember where they came from. Power has an ability to corrupt and a mise leadership should be damn cognizant of the temptations of such authority.

Not that becoming such a person is even on the radar for Duncan; he's not exactly anything special or in a position to even remotely getting within spitting distance of such a seat being his.

My province? I don't want one. I will start off in a tent in the Maze, and with the assistance of my Squire Kitty of Annihilation, I will set eternal fire to all lands who oppose my vision of using lots of thread and needles to sew up the rift.

Of course...We'll probably die shortly after setting up the tent. Most likely via Werewolves.
