For anyone who does not interpret pictures very well:

There's a cloth golem in town named Tanner that's looking for his two friends:

-A golem I have met once before that called himself a guardian/sentinel that's a bit taller than average.

-A shorter, female golem.


Golems are, as far as I can tell from recent memory, very rare so if you have seen any in the last six months wondering town in a neutral manner, they might be his friends if they match those general descriptions?

Most recently; in July, Colin Flamel was present in his golem form.
During the strange five years due to Eden, those at Palindor, where Colin was, helped him in research that allowed him to make protective golems to help defend the city, that did not require anyone to pilot them. He referred to these as the Centurions. Maybe this has something to do with Tanner's friends.

Could anyone tell me who this Tanner fellow is? It's a bit unnerving that a [strike]sentient farm implement[/strike] scarecrow both has friends and is a more capable artist than many townsmembers.

I was there during the instance that you mentioned. One of the things that was done was checking to make sure that was not a golem before we defeated it. I can assure you that after thoroughly looking it over, it was not a golem and merely a pile of laundry that was somehow attacking people.

I communicated (poorly, I am afraid) with Tanner and he did not in any way seem hostile. He was very willing to explain to the extent possible about how he was made (beyond cloth his core is apparently made from meteoroic ore) and was quite patient with our slow understanding of what he was trying to express. He seemed a bit interested in the carved pumpkins by the Inn and gestured to one and then his own head. I told him I preferred his current look, both because of the possibility of rot over the long term, as well as a concern that he might look an awful lot like a minion of Lord Fallow if he were to adopt a pumpkin head, which is generally not a good thing (in my opinion).

Maybe Agaurans might be more fearful of him or think him more hostile--all that talk of the 'raven mother' and whatnot.

But I'm a bit more curious about his upbringing than other folks about town. Them I can imagine how they ended up here and the whole "how did you come into being" thing is slightly more obvious for the educated among us. Pretty different for him, especially since I think you just said he's literally got rocks for brains.

He wouldn't be the first sentient golem I've encountered. There was a sentient hide Golem on Mercy. Poor chap turned into a pair of pants when he died.

You are always more than welcome to come by my Animal Sanctuary. I have helped quite a few students with learning how to write already and would be more than happy to help you to ease communication with the rest of Travance for you. As for searching for your friends, I would like to help with that as well and think that some of my resources might be useful in that endeavor.
