Jax Masks - Unavailable at the moment

A few people have asked about getting Jax Masks for the Alt event, and / or asked when I'm playing Garrun next, which both have the same answer...

Lyonshel Studios ( www.lyonshel.com ), the company that makes the usual Jax masks, has been out of production for a while due to a number of issues, including the economy (He can't get the production chain needed for the masks running), and health issues from the primary owner.  I haven't been able to get a simple black mask for several months, and it looks like they are getting harder to find.

If you happen to come across a mask in a store, it may be worth grabbing, or at least posting here.  If someone happens across a black panther mask, please let me know - the last one I had died a horrible death on the way home from event, and I can't play Garrun at the moment.

I used Lyonshel for years before joining KR. His stuff is amazing.

It comes blank colored but is easy enough to airbrush the color you need.

I will definitely vouch for products from Scream Team.  Sadly they only last for about 3 full events - maybe more if you can find ways to take care of them better than I was able (although I tried very hard).  They look great and apply well.

Meh - they're out of The Beast.  Which is sad, given what a reference it is to the classic TV show... it would be perfect.

That blows.  I was going to pick one up also.  Did they say when they would be restocking?

PS : Vincent rocks...I loved that show.

I see the pics you are thinking of, but they're not Lyonshel's pics... they're slightly different, but of the same animals, and the same basic getup (Bulldog with the tongue hanging out, etc.).

This looks like a great find - the mask is lower face only, which is a HUGE help!  I'll get one for Garrun, and see how it goes.

We shall see. I have been wanting to step into that realm.

Plus those teeth look cool, and nose is optional.

Going back to check on this, Lyonshel is supposedly open again, but the online store still uses the old email address, and he's not taking orders, so it's a no go (and PayPal takes their chunk of change when you send it, so don't try to!)

On the plus side, NorthFur just released a new set of molds, that look like they should do well - they're a near replica of the Lyonshel ones.

(Keep in mind they do Mascots more than anything else, so the pics are going to look a bit cartoony.)

They also carry ears, both headband and ear tips.

If your looking for masks I recommend www.valmortha.com , the maker plays at another larp with me and I have had two masks made by her.

Those are nice leather masks, but not what this thread is about.

North Fur has officially taken on the Lyonshel mask line, and is producing and selling them - it looks like you were right, Tom.  Now it's official in name, too.

I live near the guys that make these. There feline hot foam faces are amazing! Mine is great and has never given me trouble.
