Hmm, I could probably use that frosting spray on my lanterns to make them more diffuse and good looking.

Keep in mind the lid needs to be clear, to let the solar cells charge the lamp! That, or you need to rig it so the cell is on the outside somehow.

Trip to the old home depot should cover this.

We should put out a call for everyone to donate 1-2 of these... We'd get at least 100, and imagine how awesomely handy they'd be strung around the inn, lining paths, etc.

Please do not donate these. For the amount of light they would give off, 100 of them would simply take up far too much space for transportation purposes. Id much rather see people make them for their own cabins. Thanks for the thought though

Vince and I put a few of these together last night. Super easy, fun to do, and they look AWESOME. They're also incredibly bright, and the description on the website doesn't do them justice: I think I'm going to be able to start saving on electricity by using these to light the house at night.

If they're TOO bright, they should not be used - we don't need a cabin lit up like Las Vegas. They should approximate an oil lantern, or other natural light source.

I just got a mental image of a cabin lit up like Las Vegas, complete with Hookah Lounge, The Black Orchid running tables, and some poor, hapless PC's running around like in the movie The Hangover, looking for some PC asleep on the roof. Complete with a surprise cameo visit by Lord Shen listening to music and knocking some poor mofo out.

I would say one single light could provide a useful subtle illumination for a cabin, especially if some cellaphane is used to color the light orange.

Oh my god I just got a great idea for a mod... It involves lighting up a cabin like Las VegasIf they're TOO bright, they should not be used - we don't need a cabin lit up like Las Vegas.
