Hey all, I've been lurking on the site for a few years(2013), always had an interest in getting involved just never had the time. As other hobbies are beginning to slow down for me I've got the June, July, and August event weekends blocked off to come here! Super excited. My Character is probably going to be a "lovable rouge"

Can't wait to finally meet you guys in June!

So I've been filling out the Character builder worksheet(very exciting), and I just can't figure out how Body works. In the example on page 24 of the rule book "John" spends 15 build on body points, and ends up with 60 body points, but the way I'm understanding the rules, the Kormyrian has a 1 ratio, so for the first 15 build of body points it would be: 15(1x1+1), so shouldn't it only be 30 Body Points plus the original base of 10 to be 40 total?

I am very confused.

Body is based on the types of skills you take and then calculated in the card database when your character is made.

A good way to go about thinking this is the following.

If you are playing a caster, assume that your body to build ratio is 1:1

If you are playing a rogue, assume your body to build ratio is 1:2

If you are playing a warrior, assume your body to build ratio is 1:3

Your first 15 build spent on body is your ratio +1.
So if you are a warrior, your first 15 build spent on body is 1:4
After that it turns to 1:3
After that it changes, but you don't have to worry about that for character creation as you shouldn't need to put more than 30 build into body at creation. (and even then, you probably don't need that much as a starting character)

The number you'll come up with is a rough estimate to your body ratio.

So since it's calculated in the database I don't need to figure out the exact number, just the amount of build I want to spend on it?

Second question I have, Character History. I have several friends coming to the game with me to give it a try and we want our characters to be connected so we can come into the game knowing each other, but I was reading that you can't use your character history until it's approved. So how would this work, would we be able to know each other and just can't talk about the past, or would we have to "meet" each other's characters during the first event?

And a Third Question, Career points are only for professions that do crafting, magic, or similar things. As an Archer I wouldn't need to worry about career points?

First question:
Yes and you'd have the approx number

Second question:
I'll leave with to the RP marshals.

Third question:
Yes career points are only on the lists that use them. If they aren't listed with that profession, you don't need them.

I'm not a RP Marshal myself, but I did confirm what I thought to be the case with one, that you can come into game knowing each other. So long as you're not making claims about your character that are out of the ordinary--such as them being nobility--you're good to go.

Not a RP marshal, but I would like someone to come in and clarify this as well: (RP marshal or member of the clan)

I believe the Tanwyn's were all friends OOG who made up a giant Romani family IG.
