Mob football distinguished itself from other codes by typically having an unlimited number of players and fairly vague rules. By some accounts, any means could be used to move the ball to a goal, as long as it did not lead to manslaughter or murder

Imagine using tag skills while playing?

I found it while scanning wikipedia on lunch and checked dates. Seems, even prior to King Arthur have people been kicking a round leather ball around

We did a cabertoss at the Grand Kormyrian games awhile back.  If I recall, Chris Kane's kid almost got hit with one...

I was honestly just thinking the other day about the hilarity of playing a pick-up football game with a large group of people in garb.  I think it would be awesome. :)

It's not OOG if we use, say, a severed head or something. Right? We can call it Ogreball!

Or any variant of the highland games. Caber toss, Sheaf toss, haggis eating contests... golf... etc.

OBVIOUSLY a football is a very OOG piece of sports paraphanelia.  Whereas a piece of PVC pipe covered in foam and duct tape is a very IG representation of a sword  ::)

It was the hammer toss, and yes, Quagz almost killed my kid.

Thank you for helping me in keeping Quagz feeling guilty about that once more.  ;D

We have latex, foam, boffer weapons.  We even have fake bottles and a foam "wooden" barrel.  Yet somehow, it was ok'd to use a wood block with rope for a phys-rep for the hammer toss.  ???  I missed some really good event from the past huh...  ;)

Lots of games where a head was kicked around, or swatted.  Probably some version of Rugby would pass muster, but who wants to play?
