Shut-the-Box was created by Erim Walker
Is there anyone local to the NYC/Bergen County area who possesses a Shut-the-Box who would be willing to loan it out to me for a bit for some inscrutable game development studio purposes?

Alternatively, anyone know where one could be found locally on the cheap?

Really, I'd prefer the loaner option :-).

"Ok we can attack... but if we miss, we'll hit the villagers."
"I'm willing to take that chance!"

Things I am no longer allowed to do in an RPG :
31. The backup trap handler is not whoever has the most HP at the time.
73. Not allowed to name my cudgel Ceremonial Whoopass Stick.
74. My thief's battle cry is not "Run And Live"

You can probably just make a copy of shut the box, since the materials to play it are so simplistic.

Barring that, I know you can get smaller travel version of the game for relatively cheap.

There are crappy online versions to be had too, but I'm trying to get my hands on a physical specimen, preferably without spending cash because I don't need it in the long term. I don't even NEED the phys-rep, really, it would just be nicer than making use of those flash ones.

I mean, I'd LIKE one in the long-term, but then I'd be dropping the $60 on that gorgeous Front Porch Classics one heh.

You should recover some of the costs if you itemize.

When do you need it by? Had I known, I would have loaned your ours before leaving the convention.

i wouldn't feel right taking your beautiful expensive one, leaving it in an office where who knows who will be fiddling with it.

I don't really need one by any specific point. like i said, i don't really need one at all. I'm tinkering with some new designs using shut the box as inspiration, and it would be nice to have a phys rep to toy around with.

On an unrelated topic, you know you've got KR on the brain when the term "phys rep" enters your normal every day vocabulary.

we sold those at Smart Toys, but I believe those were the front porch classics, cheaper than 60 though
