Late Infromation About Natural Mosquito Repellent was created by SerenityMoonstone
Mosquito season may be over, but it's never too late for information for next year. I've just learned, from a website and a recommendation from a friend,  that rubbing crushed lavender leaves and/or peppermint leaves is a good natural mosquito repellent. I just thought I'd share that with everyone. :)

This stuff is pretty horrid if you accidentally inhale when applying it but..

www.repel.com/ProductCategories/Insectre...nts/LemonEucalyptus/

It is a natural repellent that I found worked amazingly and I was using it in july/august and I went without any bites for the entire weekend. I also drank alot of apple cider vinegar mixed with water so the bugs were doubly repulsed by me. :D

WOAH DEET?! I thought that stuff was illegal cause it cause nerve failure and was the reason why the hawks, condors, bald eagles, etc were about ready to be extinct?!

But that's cool about the vinegar. :)

I recall riding my bike through clouds of DDT as the township sprayed for mosquitoes in my youth.  Probably kill me in a few.

I have a house on Fire Island... which other than it's awesomeness, is also known for having a lot of tiny vampires... I have washed myself in Gin, I have used the anti-mosquitto app on my phone, I have used fabric softeners, and nothing works better than Deet.  Deep woods, as much Deet as you can get Deet.  Everything else MAY work for inland blood suckers, but the beach is hard core drainers.

planting citronella plants around buildings helps.

geranium rose is the main ingredient in the natural bug repellant in Badger brand, and the ones I get at the crafts fairs.
