Signs you've been playing KR too long ...

Signs that you've been playing Knight Realms too long:

Seeing this sign in Freehold and thinking: "Huh! I didn't think Alisandria owned property this far South ..."

While working at Subway someone orders a veggie sandwich and I almost called it a Druid sandwich.

Seeing parchment colored paper on the ground in a parking lot and bending down to see what kind of loot I've found.

Seeing two muscular guys holding hands and thinking "Are you a bear".

Riddling my brother's bag of chips with clothespins when he won't share them.

Repeating the term "Strength+1" each time I lift boxes at my job in a frozen food department.

When my siblings in elementary school run around the house, throwing my spackets and yelling random numbers at each other.

When someone's hair catches fire at work and all I can think is "I hope she didn't tear her Weave". *Invoke Rimshot*

When you say "Invoke Rimshot"

When you can't hear someone saying the word "hold" without wanting to repeat it back to them.

You find yourself putting your hand on your head for OOG when getting off topic or speaking secretly to someone.

When you mention a lord you were squired under and 85% of the game goes "who?"

When you daughter responds to "Hold" by stopping in place and then calling "3.2.1 lay on" and starts running again.

When your 6-year-old son ambushes you in the hall, hits you with a spell packet, yells "incinerate" and you reach for your card because you can't remember if you have a spell protection...

When boffer fighting with my brother and his friends I call out damage and defenses.

When you completely ignore anyone with a red, yellow, or white headband/ hatband... That didn't work out so well for that pedestrian...

Your family or friends call you by your character name to get your attention, and it works.

When you're telling a story of an event past, only to realize nobody in your audience has ever been to the PA camp it took place at.

When you go to haunted houses, and find yourself reaching for the place on your hip where you wear your sword out of reflex anytime something jumps out.

When your gypsy gear seems perfectly legit for a family function

When getting a weapon out of logistics to NPC with and realizing that you have been hit by all of them.

When you can tell people about the event James missed.

Or

When you realize you've been playing KR for about as long as some of the current players have been alive.

When you're telling a KR story and you have to explain how the rules used to work 5 updates ago.

When you're out as a nyad and take no effect from break limbs.

When it seems perfectly normal when you go shopping that you think "I could use this for game, I'm going to get it."

When your wardrobe is 80% garb and 20% mundane clothes

It's normal to think as your character in certain situations that arise.

You have seen KR be put into it's own fandom..... o_e

I didn't think I'd add something until work today:

When writing your initials on something and adding your character card number at the end

When watching a show and shouting out tag skills that are happening...

Or making parodies of current songs using happenings in Travance...

Or when you fill out a job application for your character instead of yourself.

Your 6 year old can repeat almost all of new player training.

He also runs around with his friends playing with swords and has to explain what he meant when he starts calling skills at them.

when you've attended kr for longer then you attended h,s college, and grad school combined.

when you insist there's no such thing as playing KR too long.

* mixing up your working number with your character number.

*finding a piece of animal on the ground (bird skull, butterfly wing, roots, ect) and quickly snatching it for later use.

*having to honestly explain to a boss what I've been doing on the weekends for two years.

*Immediately casing an old barn for things i could add to the cavalcade the moment i walk in without thinking.

...when you reach for a weapon by your bed if you're woken up by a loud noise.

...when you ask for "ale" when you really wanted some iced tea.

...when carrying a guitar case filled with a bow, arrows, and fake knives on the subway seems like a perfectly normal thing to do.

I once picked up my LARP jacket when about to go out to eat.

When you put a weapon on your belt before leaving your room as a reflex.

When you start seeing KR references in a customer's name or address.
Ex: Ardentfire Ln, Mr. Wonderlich, Mrs. Ilona (Insert surname here)

When your alarm goes off and you wake up with a jolt and out of reflex reach for your sword.

When something is going to hit you and while dodging it you say the word "Dodge".

When you find random gems, coins and spell packets in your drawers and all around your room.

When the large majority of your wardrobe is garb rather than actual every day clothing.

Let's see if I can do this in order of increasing insanity...

1. Shopping trips to the hardware store/thrifts shops shoot up 300% increase as opposed to before KR.
2. Everything you look at makes you wonder "does this look IG enough for my sleeping area?"
3. When playing a table top game/MMO... you start wishing you could do tag skills instead.
4. You start basing what you find attractive in possible girl/boyfriends is if they can LARP with you.
5. Sewing becomes a turn on.
6. Your garb/character clothes outnumber your normal clothes.
7. You STOP WEARING NORMAL CLOTHES.
8. You insist being called your character name instead of your real name by everyone... even your parents.
9. Your parents call you by your character name.
10. You're at Camp Sac so much that pictures of you walking around in a bathrobe are floating on the internet.
11. You move in permanently to Camp Sac & James has to call the cops to chase you away.

How's that???
