Hey guys, I've been looking at period music, found a couple of artists I like, who actually hark back to rp. I would love to hear suggestions on what people find to be essentially period style music, and also "Knight Realms" style music.
I've listened to the stuff like Epic Music and of course Two steps from hell, just interested in what people would think would be the muzak of Travance.

The instrumental (Prison Varg) album Hlidskjalf by Burzum is good ambience, if a bit more Runescape than Knight Realms.
I know for me that the first and last tracks (Arising Armament and Undying Rearmament, respectively) on the Chthonic album Bu-Tik are great for getting into character - but not everyone is a super Taiwanese-influenced Khitanese. I use a lot of Chthonic, so their instrumental album Timeless Sentence is perfect for me.
The Eluveitie album Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion is great stuff that I could totally imagine hearing in a druid grove (for a fair bit of it).
I'm also a big fan of medieval chant, be it plainsong, chanson, motet, or even polyphonic (looking at you, Palestrina!).

If you happen to be at game this month, I highly suggest coming to the inn at some point. So far there is a pool of 4 of us, who will be performing at various points and times (probably starting after layon), including myself (Aimee), Midori, Nalik, and Creepy Bard. We do a lot of renn-faire/period music, from G to just plain wrong.

The High Kings and Great Big Sea.
Also, since I sang one of their songs at Feast, The Civil Wars.

I didn't go to last years WitL, but if last year is any indication, that's a great place to learn all sorts of music. Usually there is a bardic circle, or at least, that is what it sounded like.
