Song Circle was created by Charani Yhatzi
Starting at eight bells Wednesday night we will be holding a song circle around the Kaledonia fire pit. We are starting on the early side to allow for some younger members to join us. Around ten bells, bawdy songs will begin to be allowed.
The format of the circle will be Pick, Pass, or Perform. We go around the circle, and when it is your turn you get a choice between the three. Pick means you can request a song from anyone who knows it, or request that a specific person sing a specific song. Pass means you pass your turn to the next person. Perform means you choose a song or story to perform.
If you are picked, you are allowed to refuse, and there is no problem in passing every turn if you wish. No one needs perform if they do not wish to.
If someone performs a song you know, join in!
We welcome food and drinks, or gifts of firewood. I myself will have my hookah and some of my own brews.
Come to sing or listen, come with food, drinks, or just yourself!
We will go as late as people still wish to sit and sing. Feel free to come for all of it or just a part.
If you know you plan to come, feel free to respond so we have some general idea of how many will show, but you do not need to respond to show up. Especially let us know if you plan to bring something.
We will also be holding a song circle some time over the weekend, but the time and place is as yet TBD.

Is there to be more than one circle this feast? I'll not be there til Friday, and I'd be sure to bring me songbooks.

The Kaladonia fire pit will (I hope) open the entire time. If there is another impromptu song circle I would be ok with it. We just ask that either food or fire wood be provided.

I will sadly be on paperwork until 2 bells past midnight. If it's still going on then perhaps I will sing a few.

I hope that the bards can gather many times this week to sing and celebrate! Unfortunately, I am preoccupied until Thursday evening, but I can't wait to hear how successful this song circle will be. DO me a favor and saved me some roasted mallows if there are any.

With recent events having had a deep impact on my soul, I feel it is necessary to reconnect with my fellow bards. I have kept myself away for a myriad of deeply personal reasons, but it would appear that now is a time to unite our voices and let them rise to the heavens.
I will do my very best to attend...and to sing...not only for you, but for my very wounded soul.

As usual, I would like to hold a song circle around 3:30/4pm just before the actual feast, as it's good prep time for any performances to be had.
Thoughts?

Aye! This sounds like a wonderful plan to me.
As far as location, perhaps we should have this performance in the small grove by the kitchens. I'll do my best to get some firewood for the pit there.
