Sun Salve

As the days lengthen and grow in warmth we of Travance often find ourselves eager to bare more flesh and allow the cool breezes to waft where they may even as the sun seeks to caress us. While enjoyable, I urge those of you who delight in running about during this warmer weather: Do not neglect to apply a protective layer of sun salve!

You may believe yourself invulnerable to her charms, but the Sun is a cruel and relentless mistress from whom no man escapes unscathed. Many markets in the land sell this simple protective cream and a quick application of it at sunrise is assured to save you meany tears and muffled whimpers by nightfall.

Hja! Your words are painfully true Sidhe! I have already felt too closely the kiss of the sun last feast, and my nose is peeling fiercely, as are my shoulders. Another reason why the north's sweet cool wind is to be preferred, because there we properly bundle up and the sun does not hurt us.

My lord Gideon also felt the touch of the sun. I do keep some of the salve in the Kaladonia Statehouse due to my fair complexion.

That sun salve stuff never works for me. tried the most powerful stuff they offer- no effect. I tend to stick to shadows and inside as much as I can in the hot times. some days, I miss my glens.

It is that time of year isn't it? I must confess I have been busy with many projects and experiments that I have not been out of my room for days. My skin has gotten rather pallid. Thank you for reminding me, and giving me something to dread. Maybe I should bring a parasol with me? It might be helpful, especially if it is nice enough for setting up tea outdoors.

P.S. I should have sun salve with me, if anyone needs it. It is of Londwynian make, so it is better.

i can attest to this i have lost many a hard fought battle with my nemesis the sun... but this time it will go differently... so much differently...

An' if your effects fail, might I suggest an after-sun salve as well, da? Also sold at the same markets ya' found the sun salves at. An' in a pinch, it might make you smell of a salad, but I've heard wonders of using white vinegar dressings before a bath to take out the bite an' string of the suns ailments.

Time to reacquire a broad brimmed hat

Re-apply the Sun Salve after bathing, swimming, and boating! Water can wash it off.
