Magnus, you mention there is no resurrection for those the Maw kills. What of reanimation? For those who don't know the difference, resurrection is the magical reunification of body and soul after the soul has left the body. Generally, a soul must willingly choose to leave the body (or whatever remains of it). Reanimation, on the other hand, is a purely scientific process of rebuilding the body before the soul chooses to separate (this is why reanimation does not cause resurrection sickness- the sickness is caused by the disorientation of the soul and body rejoining, which reanimation does not do).

If one is eaten by the Maw, does the Maw rip away its soul, thus preventing even reanimation? If it does not, with enough skill surely they can be preserved, even through whatever damage the Maw does. I am not ashamed to say that I am one among many skilled Physicians of Travance who are fully capable of performing such a procedure.

Furthermore, I must ask those who have completed Professor Algrave's class already, is there anything we who are currently taking the class may do to aid and assist you? Last moon marked our halfway point through the class, so if our knowledge can be of use, I will endeavor to make it so.
